After finishing the course, I got some insights about teaching mathematics. I learnt that I can connect mathematics with dance, art and social justice. After reading Skemp's article, I noticed that relational understanding of mathematics can help students understand the concepts behind mathematics so that they do not need to memorize the mathematical formulas. They just use their logical thinking to figure out the formulas they have learnt before. From the TPI assessment, I know I am weak at raising students' awareness of society and not a good transmission teacher. Therefore, I should work harder on these 2 areas. In the micro-teaching, I got some constructive feedback, suggesting me to work more on time management and the way of how to deliver lectures effectively. Overall, I like the course and thank Susan for giving me some insights about teaching mathematics.
